Amanda Milligan

Mandy was introduced to Pilates after suffering a dance injury while studying at Interlochen Arts Academy in high school. She liked that Pilates provided low-impact strength training that helped her grow as a dancer and prevent further injury. While at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music studying for her BFA in Ballet Performance, Mandy decided to also join a 4 month Pilates certification program through Pendleton Pilates under the direction of Sonja McDonald and Kate Graham. She also studied under Kristen Abbot at Reforming Indy Pilates to receive her Balanced Body Reformer certification as well as extensive mentoring with master instructor Lisa Eppin. Mandy is most interested in using Pilates as functional cross-training for highly specialized athletes and clients recovering from injury or surgery. She enjoys teaching all age groups skill levels and walks of life, from senior clients with hip and knee replacements to teenage athletes training at the professional level. Mandy has experience teaching ballet to all age groups and levels and finds  that her knowledge from her dance training is constantly informing her work as a Pilates teacher. She loves how her two passions, dance and Pilates, constantly intersect and she loves helping people feel better and move more effectively so that they can continue doing what they love too.
