Get to know your Client Coordinator – Sherri

Get to know Sherri! Sherri is a certified 200 hour registered yoga instructor, group fitness instructor, and personal trainer.  Sherri’s love for yoga and teaching eventually inspired her to complete additional fitness certifications and work more closely with clients in a both individual and group setting. Sherri is excited to bring her knowledge as an instructor, trainer, entrepreneur, and passion for guiding people to reach their health and wellness goals to the LulaFit Team.  As the Client Relations Manager, Sherri is dedicated to connecting with people and creating positive interactions between clients and the LulaFit team. Learn more about Sherri in our Q & A below:

What brought you to LulaFit?  

I found LulaFit after searching for a company that values their customers and puts an emphasis on exceptional customer service. Too many times in the fitness industry have I seen clients being treated poorly and with no respect. I wanted to be part of a team that focuses on making health and wellness a priority so that they can help better their clients lives. After my first interview I knew I wanted to join the LulaFam especially because of the values honesty, connection, and collaboration!

How would you describe your wellness philosophy? 

My wellness philosophy is to let go of shame that surrounds healthy living. We are human and we are meant to enjoy good food and skip a workout every once in a while… (within reason J) I am a big believer that wellness has a lot to do with how we talk to ourselves and treat our bodies. If we constantly beat ourselves up then we only focus on what we are doing wrong, and not the effort we put in day in and day out. Which to me, creates unnecessary daily stress, I strived to help my previous clients overcome negative self talk.

What advice do you have for people that are just getting into fitness and wellness?  

My advice for people who are just getting into fitness is to take it steady. Start slow and build up your stamina. It’s about baby steps and slowly making small changes that will be lasting. I think sometimes people get really excited about a program and over do it. They either injure themselves or burn out quickly.

What’s your favorite food and why? 

Chocolate, because chocolate! I also love Thai food and making Thai dishes. I like that there are many different flavors in each dish.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love to cook for my family and friends. I also love going out to dinner and trying all the different amazing restaurants Chicago has to offer.
