Being active has always been a part of Marcus’ life. He grew up with a love for sports, playing
basketball and baseball through his youth. In high school, Marcus was deeply committed to
Cross Country and Track & Field which lead to running at the collegiate level at East Carolina
University for a year and a half. While in his third year at ECU, Marcus developed a passion for
dance and eventually changed his major, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance
Performance. Soon after receiving his degree, Marcus moved to Chicago to dance
professionally with Inaside Chicago Dance and has had the opportunity to teach and
choreograph across the Midwest.
Upon sustaining ankle injuries that inhibited his movement throughout 2015 and 2016, Marcus
developed an interest in corrective exercises and how they help sustain the body through
vigorous activity. Seeing that this form of training helped strengthen his body to perform at the
rate he did prior to injury, he desired to help others in the same way. Becoming a NASM certified
personal trainer, Marcus’ goal for every client is for them to be confident in their body and what
it’s capable of.
