Emily Koches
    Emily believes that living a healthy lifestyle does not need to be complicated, boring or stressful! Her path to fitness instruction actually started with a simple goal to lose weight after college. She decided to step out of her comfort zone of aerobics classes and try a weight lifting class— and she loved it. Emily quickly progressed to becoming an all-around athlete, participating in CrossFit challenges, completing two Tough Mudders and running several 15Ks. She decided to combine her love of teaching with her love of fitness and become a certified fitness instructor in 2013. Since then, Emily has worked with a variety of clients, helping them discover what their body really CAN do and how to find fun in exercise.

     

    While Emily loves intense workouts, her first love is dance. When she’s not teaching, you can find her dancing Samba, West African or Dancehall. Emily also enjoys yoga and pilates, and believes the healthiest and happiest people have a well-rounded mind and body routine with plenty of variety.

     

    Emily holds a M.A.T. from American University, a B.S. from Northwestern University and is a certified Integrative Health Coach. She has worked in K-12 education for 10 years and loves teaching kids about healthy habits, too!  Emily is excited to help her LulaFit clients make exercise a routine part of their lifestyle and have fun along the way.
