Christian Denice found his love for yoga while he was professionally dancing in a contemporary ballet company in Montreal, Quebec. He found the connection between the mind and body to be an essential part of his daily practices while maintaining the physical demands of his dance career. Two years ago, he made the choice to step away from the consistency of a full-time dance career and focus on himself in a more freelance way. Choreography has always been an important passion in Christian’s life, so he moved back to Chicago to dive further into his choreographic explorations.
In his time of transition, yoga became even more important for Christian. It became a root and a stability when everything around him was changing in his life. That is when he made the choice to do his power yoga teacher training through CorePower Yoga in early 2017. After completing his training in both Power Yoga and Yoga Sculpt, he began teaching throughout the city.
Christian continues to freelance as a dance choreographer, as well as a dance educator for the Joffrey Ballet Academy, and loves that yoga has offered him a completely new outlet for sharing his love of movement with new communities. Christian strives to create dynamic sequences focusing on strength training and mobility exercises to make all students feel challenged, comfortable, and confident.
